If you’re refraining from festival fun this weekend and are around ‘Dub-land’ at a loose end, take a trip down to Wellington Quay and pop into The Workman’s Club.

Friday 31 July – The Co-Present – €6 @ Midnight

The lads from Radiomade.ie will take to the Workman’s stage tomorrow night. Expect to catch Co-Present(er) Dwayne Woods with sounds and sarcasm from the one-and-only Gav Hennessy. This is a monthly collaboration happening on one Friday each and every month.

The Co-Present Team will take over the Main Venue from midnight, to treat music lovers to a performance from one of Ireland’s rising bands, as well as DJ set – all of which is broadcast live on www.radiomade.ie. This time around, Woods and Hennessy will be bringing sultry cabaret-grunge goddess Naoise Roo and a DJ set from Whipping Boy front man, Fergal McKee.

Saturday 1st August – Covet, Halfset, Blue-Whale – €5 @ 8pm

Little L Records will be bringing an awesome triple hit on Saturday. Covet and halfset are about to set off for a week-long tour of Europe and it all starts off at the Workman’s. Covet are an intricate and complex math-rock band hailing from California. Texas’ finest, halfsleep, bring a plethora of mathy jams with them over to this side of the pond. Plus, Belfast’s leading party prog-krautrock band, Blue Whale, are taking a trip down south for this super-special show. Fancy it? Course you do!

Sunday 2nd August – Bank Holiday Sunday Bash – FREE @ 7pm

The Workman’s gang are hosting another “super-bleedin-deadly” Bank Holiday Sunday bash at their place on Sunday. As per usual, patrons will be charged the pricey sum of NO EUROS to come along and have the craic. Some great bands will be around for the craic too: Gangs, Fontaines, Spines, Galants, The Lorraine Club, awesome DJs, a spot of Guilty Pleasures and a sprinkling of The Workman’s Club Karaoke.
