T in the Park, the annual weekend music festival held at Strathallan Castle, Scotland, has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Organisers of the Scottish festival are liaising with authorities, after a video of a man being bottled went viral.

The eight-seconds of violence, which has been viewed 650,000 times, was originally uploaded to the Facebook page, ‘Being oot yer nut at T in the Park”, and shows one man hitting another over the head with a glass bottle.

A spokesperson for the festival has said: “The majority of T in the Park fans are praised for their positive behaviour by the police…Anti-social behaviour like this is not tolerated here and we are assisting police with their investigation in any way we can.”

The Scottish police have released a statement about the violent episode: “We have been made aware of a video showing an assault that is believed to have happened in a campsite at T In The Park. Officers are making enquiries into the incident and are appealing for anyone with information that could assist the enquiry to come forward urgently.”

This comes after the death of a festival-goer; a 36 year-old man who was found at the festival’s campsite on Saturday afternoon (July 11).

A spokesperson for the festival said: “We are extremely saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with the family at this time.”
