Ryan Adams, today, has released his highly anticipated covers album of Taylor Swift’s chart-topper, 1989 – and it’s pretty f****ng good!
Adams’ collection of copycats hit iTunes earlier and Swift is very…very impressed. Fans of the pair have taken to Twitter, airing their excitement, with @Alexazura tweeting, “I’ll be listening to this on repeat for the rest of my life.”
The Whiskeytown front-man turned soloist has dramatically shifted the style and pace of Swift’s pop-tart hits, so much so that they are almost unrecognisable. The tempo shift in most of the – formerly up-tempo – songs means you can actually make out all of the love-tinged lyrics. So no more, “Is she saying ‘Starbucks Lovers’, or ‘Starcrossed Lovers’, or neither?”
