Cannon posted a photo of a cassette from 1995 on social media yesterday, which he claims features a song that was never made public.
He declined to share the contents of the tape online, despite pleas and even steep cash offers from fans.
According to Cannon, the recording includes multiple versions of ‘Wonderwall’, an unreleased Oasis track and also captures several minutes of Noel Gallagher’s ad libs during an early studio session.
Asked by a fan whether the tape is the band’s first demo, Cannon said it was recorded “a bit later”.
Cannon designed the covers of ‘Definitely Maybe’, ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ and ‘Be Here Now’ as well as The Verve’s ‘Urban Hymns’ and Ash’s ‘1977’.
Meanwhile, the director of the new Oasis documentary Supersonic has said he believes that the band will get back together one day.
