Ahead of the world premiere in 2016 of a new song-cycle and second album, Dylan Tighe has just released a deluxe version of his critically acclaimed debut album, Record. It features five bonus tracks including: an unreleased studio recording from the album sessions of Forever Young (a cover of the 80’s classic by Alphaville) plus a solo version of album track Emergency recorded live for RTÉ Radio, live versions of album tracks The Ghost and Opus recorded with full band at the Grand Social, Dublin in 2014 and a new solo version of album track Microscope live at Irish Arts Center New York City in 2015.
Tighe told us: “I wanted to challenge the listener to look beyond the diagnostic labels and reductive and questionable medical theories and treatments, which I have rejected, and to gain an insight into the crises of consciousness and traumas of living at the heart of existential pain and distress”…The songs reclaim and re-frame my experience of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment and set the record straight from my own perspective”.
