An absorbing, short, sharp collection of songs mired in melancholy and wrought with emotion, Rebekah Fitch’s latest effort – the Broken Mind EP – marks a promising, if not dark, new beginning for the NI singer-songwriter. A four-track offering, the EP delves into serious introspection, with lyrical themes that are often muddied by the singer’s own inner-monologue – the likes of ‘Fake Smiles’ and ‘Not Myself’ channel a pseudo-solipsism that Fitch vocally aches to break free from beyond ‘A Love So Crazy’.

Melodically, it’s a smartly arranged package, and will make for an overall compelling listen for those who like their moods a little sombre around the edges. Have a listen below, and Broken Mind is out now.
