Róisín Dubh is hosting Daithí’s new E.P launch, this Friday, February 26th. Daithí’s career began on the first series of the All-Ireland Talent Show and he’s enjoyed success ever since. Describing his music as, “Indie traditional electro math rock looped with a twist”, it’ll be an interesting night for sure. Expect electronic beats, math rock complexity and trad craic! The show kicks off at 8:30 p.m. and entry is free.

The following evening, Saturday February 27th, Scott Bradlees Postmodern Jukebox are bringing their menagerie of styles to Galway’s Seapoint Ballroom in Salthill. Postmodern Jukebox have achieved international fame on Youtube and had an album in the Billboard Jazz charts alongside jazz luminaries like John Coltrane and Fats Waller. Their re-workings of modern pop gems like Call Me Maybe, and Shake It Off, have clocked up well over one hundred million views and their live show has received critical acclaim wherever they play. Be there at 8:00 p.m. with €29 in hand!

In our southernmost county, Christy Moore and The Mairtín OConnor Band will play a show at the Cork Opera House on Friday night, February 26th. I don’t need to tell you who he is. The man that sang such hits as Ride On, and Lisdoonvarna, and a former member of such seminal acts as Plenty and Moving Hearts, the show will start at 8:00 p.m. and finish at 23:30 p.m. A right marathon! Tickets are €42.50/€39.

Finally, back in Galway, Monroes are hosting a night entitled the Seattle Grunge Experience also on Friday night. Hear classics from such legends as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains live in Galway! The show starts at 10:00 p.m. and tickets are €10 or €8 online. Don’t miss it!
