Demi Lovato has joined #TeamKe$ha after a judge’s decision to uphold her recording contract with Dr. Luke and Sony, despite the allegations that he drugged and raped her.
Lovato took to Twitter to express her support on February 20th, “#FreeKesha this is only gonna make you stronger, you brave and beautiful girl. Prayers are with you @KeshaRose.”
On February 21st, she shared more thoughts about the situation along with women’s rights. She spoke of how disappointed she is that women are not being taken seriously, encouraging other females to join the talks to “help the voiceless women be heard.”
The Confident singer seems to feel the burden of this, citing the ones who are brave enough to come forward as those most likely to be ignored, or called a liar.
A Twitter rant followed, expressing a series of statements about female empowerment, “Frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action,” later adding, “Happens way too often. I’m ready for women to be taken just as seriously as men.”
