The first few names for the Cambridge Folk Festival lineup have been announced, including such high-profile artists as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Imelda May, Glen Hansard, Afro Celt Sound System and Christy Moore.

Birthed in 1965, the Cambridge Folk Festival draws critical acclaim every year for its well-known headliners and its showcase platform for younger, up-and-coming acts. The 14,000 person capacity festival enjoys sell-out crowds, every year.

The festival offers something for absolutely everyone with its great facilities and unique parkland setting. Four covered stages, music workshops and sessions, raucous ceilidhs, open stages, street theatre, real ale bars, Wi-Fi, various camping options, a youth area, kids’ ceilidh, storytelling, free crèche, paddling pool and a playground.

Music performing and playing are especially welcomed as both are ingrained in the festival’s history.
