Castlepalooza 2016 has added to an already impressive line-up including the likes of Villager, Jurassic 5, Caribou, Cat Power, Daphni, Polica, Steve Davis, Field Music, Let’s Eat Grandma and many more. Additions include new musical acts, new comedians for the Laughter Lab, the Dingle Gin Courtyard Stage featuring the best in electronic and club music, contributions from visual artists and Banter hosted by Jim Carroll as well as Culture Vultures hosted by Tony Clayton-Lea.

Exciting additions to the musical line-up include new alt-rock supergroup Minor Victories, Jurassic 5 producer Cut Chemist, Baio, “alien-synth pop” outfit Nanu Nanu, DJ & broadcaster Donal Dineen and DJ & blogger Nialler9.

As for the Castlepalooza comedy stage, the Laughter Lab, will be graced one of Ireland’s most renowned comedians Tommy Tiernan, along with Apres Match, PJ Gallagher, Al Porter, Karl Spain and many more talents.

The regular Courtyard Stage, this year hosted by Dingle Gin, will emphasise the current wave of strong Irish producers on the electronic and club scene. This year the line-up features the likes of Maxmillion Dunbar, Jon K, Hashman Deejay, Slackk, Maurice Alexander, SIAS, Frankie Grimes, Toby Kaar and many more.

Two brand new additions to the festival are Banter and Culture Vultures. Hosted by Jim Carroll, Banter is a series of public talks, interviews, and discussions which has been running at various venues and festivals in Ireland since 2009. Culture Vultures, presented by Tony Clayton-Lea, is a salon-type ‘words & music’ event, which is part public interview and partly music, comedy, and spoken word. In relation to spoken word, The Scene of the Rhyme is another event, a two hour spoken word performance showcasing some of the country’s best acts in poetry, spoken word, and theatre.

Lastly, Castlepalooza 2016 will host a number of visual artists, including Tag Beckett and Louise Gardiner as well as photographer Ruth Medjber and pop culture journalist Louise Bruton who will bring their Women of Notes / Mna Na Notai exhibition with them this year.
