The Mother Pride Block Party is returning for its fifth year as one of the highlights of the Dublin LGBTQ Pride Festival, this time in association with Smirnoff. Thousands are expected to bring the party to the grounds of Tivoli Theatre, which has been completely made over, now including multiple bars, food stalls, cocktails and a massive main stage.

Taking to the main stage are acts known far and wide, including DJ sets from Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters, Little Boots, the Queen of Ireland Miss Panti Bliss joined by Mother regular Kelly-Anne Byrne and of course, the Mother DJ’s. There will naturally be live sets too, from electronic duo Faune, festival favourites bringing soulful disco tunes, and from Wyvern Lingo, a Wicklow trio with influences from pop, rock and R’n’B, who have been garnering attention both here and abroad. They also toured with Hozier, and even have a guest appearance on his eponymous album.

Mother’s Pride Block Party has certainly come a long way since it’s humble beginnings as an impromptu street party on Copper Alley. It’s now in it’s fifth year and very possibly the most popular Pride party in the city of Dublin. Co-organiser Cormac Cashman had this to say: “Following on from the landslide YES victory last year, we’ve even more to feel proud of and we feel we have put together a stellar line-up that will give party goers the best entertainment in the city on one of the best days to party in the LGBT calendar”
